      Oregon-based Fuller Brothers Inc., the creator of the tire and rim protectant Tire Life, will be offering a new product line – the Omega Vulcanizing System. The Omega Vulcanizing System will make its debut at MINExpo 2016 in Las Vegas, Sept. 26-29.

      Focused primarily on OTR tire repairs, the vulcanization system features labor-saving materials, a time-saving process and a more accurate cure cycle, Fuller Brothers said.

      Wayne Jackson, a tire repair consultants from Vancouver, was brought on board to help lead the development and marketing of the vulcanization system that aims to improve the section repair industry.

      Nokian Tyres announced a new off-road light truck tire line, Rockproof. Designed for light trucks and SUVs, the Nokian Rockproof provides optimal performance in quarries, forests and mining areas, the tiremaker said.

      Developed in cooperation with Nokian Heavy Tyres, the new cut-resistant Nokian Rockproof Hybrid tread compound and tread pattern provide resistance in rough off-road conditions, the tiremaker said. An optimized tread block provides handling and stability, while stone ejectors prevent sharp and jagged stones from attaching to the tread surface.

      The Yokohama Rubber Co. is establishing a tire research and development center in North Carolina, located in the greater Charlotte area.

      Currently YRC conducts research on tires for the North American market in several U.S. states and in Japan, but the company hopes to consolidate these R&D activities with the new center. The consolidation should strengthen the YRC’s R&D ability and accelerate the company’s ability to deliver new tire products to the market, YRC said.
