      Goodyear is to install a second DiM250 Dynamic Driving Simulator, supplied by VI-Grade, at its Innovation Center in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg.

      Goodyear will use the simulator in conjunction with another DiM250 recently installed at the company headquarters in Ohio, USA. Both innovation sites also have previously installed VI-Grade Compact Simulators to assist with virtual tire development.

      Hydrogen is emerging as part of Michelin’s business plan for the next decade as it maneuvers to maintain a sustainable course through a rapidly changing mobility landscape.

      While tires remain one of the most recycled products in the U.S., end-of-life markets are not keeping pace with the annual generation of scrap tires, a new report released by the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) reveals.

      Thai benchmark smoked rubber sheets (RSS3) began rallying in July and rose to the highest levels in nearly three years at 64.65 baht ($2.06) per kg last week. It has eased a little and was quoted at 61.25 baht per kg on Tuesday. Prices for the grade have usually hovered at levels under 50 baht per kg in past years.     23. Trinseo first quarter sales fall 18%

      Berwyn, Pennsylvania – Trinseo SA’s synthetic rubber (SR) business has reported a double-digit decline in first quarter sales due in part to Covid-19.

      Over the three months to end of March, segment’s sales fell 18% to $102 million (€94 million) while earnings (adjusted EBITDA) grew 36% to $15 million.

      The company linked the decrease in sales to a volume decline of 8% as customers cancelled solution styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR) orders due to Covid-19 impact.
