      Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) today announced leadership changes to drive operational excellence and strengthen the company’s position as a global leader providing sustainable mobility and advanced solutions. The following changes take effect December 1, 2020.

      Bridget Neal, currently president of the company’s Off-the-Road (OTR) tire business in the U.S. and Canada, has been promoted to senior vice president, logistics and supply chain management (LSCM), Bridgestone Americas. In this role, Neal will oversee the company’s global supply chain, designing and implementing supply and distribution strategies that enable business growth and improve product cycle time.

    2. Pyrolyx USA Indiana files for bankruptcy

      Pyrolyx USA Indiana LLC Thursday filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy — a liquidation bankruptcy — in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Delaware.

      The company lists debt to creditors at more than $49.9 million.

      While the company lists more than $61.14 million in assets, more than $58.5 million is in machinery and equipment and land. Included in that, Pyrolyx lists the value of its plant and land at 4150 E. Steelton Drive in Terre Haute as $7,562,202, according to its bankruptcy court filing.

      MILWAUKEE , Nov. 23, An affiliate of Phoenix Investors (" Phoenix "), a national private commercial real estate firm headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin , announced its acquisition from Titan International, Inc. ("Titan") of its former plant in Brownsville, Texas . The plant is located at 6700 Paredes Line Road ("Property") and totals approximately 1,040,000 square feet on 108 acres. The Property was originally built in 1997.

    4. Toyo Tires President, CEO Roy Bromfield to Retire

      Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (Toyo Tires) announced President and CEO Roy Bromfield will retire in 2021 upon selection of, and successful transition to, a successor.

      The company has retained CarterBaldwin Executive Search to identify and present candidates. Bromfield will lead the search for Toyo Tires, ensuring the right fit and a seamless changeover. The timeline for Bromfield’s departure in 2021 will be determined once a successor is identified.

    5. Trinseo Sees Market Recovery: Preliminary Third Quarter 2020 Financial Results

      The Company notes that many end markets, including automotive, tires and construction, experienced strong demand recovery in the third quarter after weak demand during the second quarter due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Third quarter volumes in the Performance Plastics, Synthetic Rubber and Latex Binders segments were similar to prior year.     6. Bridgestone finalizes South Africa plant closure

      Following a consultation with workers and unions, Bridgestone South Africa (BSAF) says it has finalized the process to close down its agri tire manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. In August, the company announced a proposal to close the Port Elizabeth facility. The plant’s last day of operation will be November 15.

      Jacques Fourie, BSAF chief executive, explained, “The proposal to close the plant was not taken lightly and the impact on employees has been taken into account from the outset. We endeavored to treat employees with the utmost compassion and fairness to support them through the change, while adhering to all legal requirements and due diligence.”

    7. Nikolai Setzer to Succeed as CEO of Continental

      Continental CEO Elmar Degenhart is stepping down amid a push by the supplier to overhaul management and speed up structural changes.

      Degenhart, 61, is resigning his post "for reasons of immediately necessary preventive health care," Continental said in a statement on Thursday.

      The company did not name Degenhart's successor. It said its supervisory board will meet shortly to decide on the appointment of a new CEO.

      Degenhart will be succeeded by the head of the supplier's core automotive operations, Nikolai Setzer, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

      (Reuters) - Bolder Industries has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to merge with blank-check acquisition company GigCapital2 Inc GIX.N in a deal that would take the U.S. sustainable rubber ingredient manufacturer public and value it at close to $900 million, including debt, people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

      It would be the latest deal by a blank-check vehicle, or special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), for an environmentally focused business, following mergers for bioplastics company Danimer Scientific and Agricultural technology firm AppHarvest.

      Japanese tyre and rubber manufacturer Yokohama is planning to invest into and even buy Prometeon, the new name for the former Pirelli commercial and industrial tyre manufacturing operation, according to a range of sources. Tyres & Accessories first heard this news in July and then the Italian financial press subsequently suggested that Prometeon’s shareholders were considering restructuring Prometeon’s ownership.
