      Automotive manufacturer Continental has launched its latest haulage tire range, the EcoRegional, which the company claims has the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of hauliers’ vehicles in regional transportation applications.

      According the Continental, high efficiency is achieved thanks to a new manufacturing process in combination with a new tread design for the steering axle coupled with a rubber compound optimized for rolling resistance for the drive axle.

According to the company, these next-generation, press-on solid forklift tires incorporate the company’s Pit Stop Line, specialized compounds and a new construction that it says will guarantee uptime, efficiency and safety for operators, while reducing total cost of ownership and environmental impact.

      Bridgestone has recently announced the introduction of its MasterCore off-the-road tire line, initially covering 63in tires and with additional patterns and sizes available to customers in 2021.

      “After many years of global product development that produced advances in engineering, chemistry and material science, we are excited to introduce the MasterCore brand to mining customers all over the world,” said Tomohiro Kusano, vice president and senior officer, global mining, aircraft, agriculture solutions business at Bridgestone.

      Michelin updates North American tire lines

      Michelin North America recently announced two new additions to its tire range. The first, aimed at the freight market, is the X One Line Energy T2, which the company claims is the most efficient trailer tire it has produced to date.

      “The trailer-wheel position is challenging for long-haul tire design. The free-rolling wheel position is subject to variable loads, less maintenance and irregular wear,” explained Adam Murphy, vice president, B2B marketing, Michelin North America.
